There are things that you want more out of life, and then there's things that you want less out of life. Today we are going to talk about something that we've done in the past, and how we are ready to reimplement how to focus on the most important things and zone out distractions to get faster and more impactful results.

We all want more from life.  Whether we desire more time with family, more passive income or more success, are different things out of life, we can be easily distracted by the noise around us. Noise is simply the multitude of exterior forces that pull on you everyday.  Things like our phones buzzing or waiting on the bus for our dog can distract and overwhelm us.  But, there is a brain hack that we believe can help! Everyday, we build our three wins we want to achieve each day but even then, we can find ourselves distracted. So, what do we do?  In the book The One, we are taught that to quell the noise around us, we should focus on one of our three planned wins each day.  As we complete one task that we prioritize, we find it becomes the needle-mover for the rest of our day, makes us feel accomplished  and opens up more possibilities.

Hey everybody! Flip and Dani here, founders of the Freedom Real Estate Group Family of Companies. And welcome to another episode of our podcast, which is called Freedom Through Passive Income. That's right. Welcome to another episode. This is a Motivational Monday episode. This one is "How To Get From Where You Are to Where You Want To Be". Yeah, I'm really excited about this one, because it's something that we've done in the past, and I am ready to reimplement it. Because I changed it from well, let's just talk about it. There you go. And we will tell you how we changed it. 

So there's things that you want more out of life, and then there's things that you want less out of life. The things that you want more of is more success, and usually more time with family. Yup. In our case, more time just with each other. Yup. And our families, I guess in Texas, and Arizona, we could say that. What do we want less out of life? Noise? I would have had a four letter word but noise. Yeah, distractions. Stress. Overwhelm. Yeah. Oh, yeah. All the fun ones. Yeah. And when I say noise, it's like, the other day while we're waiting for the Pixie Paws dog bus to come. I was turning off all my notifications, right? Yeah. That to me was noise. Like my watch was buzzing, my phone was buzzing. I was like, I cannot take it anymore. Yeah, I don't know how you do it. Well, I don't know how you did it. But you don't do it anymore. Yeah, I don't, it's all turned off. And surprisingly, I'll pick up my phone. And it doesn't even have like the little red dot that tells you you have something there. So I'll go to text someone real quick. And I'll go, wow, I got a lot of messages. It's hilarious. Where's Dani?

Yeah, I want less of that out of my life. And right now I'm revisiting all of the things that actually helped me when I'm super, super focused, and super productive. And what did I do at that point in time, that is going to help me and that's why this topic came up. And I was like, Ah, okay, so I used to do this a lot better, I changed it from, so the brain hack is here. Brain Hack! I know. So doing lots of brain hacks this week. That brain hack is having a one track mind. And what we mean by that is, if you've read the book of The ONE Thing, you already knew if I was going down and talking about this, that this is what I'm talking about, you just want to focus on one thing. And what I was referring to on how we changed it is I've been referring to a top three, like I've built my what's my three wins for today, what's my three wins for tomorrow, and that would be my top. But sometimes you can't even get three things done. So this one thing, it could be the first thing that you do for the day, and it doesn't have to take very long and you can do more things. It could be so big it is the only thing that you put on your list for that day or that week, or whatever it is. 

But the point is to ask yourself, what is the most important thing? What is the needle mover? What is. What do I need right now, if you're building a business, you need revenue, if you're trying to achieve Freedom Through Passive Income, you need investment opportunities that give you the type of returns, you want to be able to achieve your goals. What is your one thing that is the highest priority, and that's your one track mind, that's all you're going to think about. And depending on how large of a project that is, again, it's just the first thing that you start with, or it's something that you work on, and you only work on and you forget about two and three until number one is done. 

So the idea behind this is that it changes the way you think and how you work and the results you get. And literally your results. Just you know, I'm thinking Ferrari, that's what's in my head. As I'm trying to describe this, it's like, *zoom* you get faster results, and more impactful results. Because you're not juggling between so many other things which I've fallen into the trap of lately, I can have my top three, but I get ping, ping, I need this, I need that or we got a deal or we got to do a pitch deck, we got to review it, we got to change it, we got to and I'm like I can't even get anything done. So I actually am going to go back to one thing just to retrain myself how to focus on one, not three, and how to turn off all the noise. Yeah, so that I can actually get productive through the end of 2022 and get myself back on track with what I wanted to achieve. So again, sometimes it's the first thing you do, sometimes it's the only thing you do. But that one small brain hack eliminates stress and overwhelm too, right? And allows you to get better results. 

So Flip, I'm gonna put you on the spot. Uh-Oh. There's lots of things that you're doing right now. Right? So what would you say for this, you just have tomorrow, today and tomorrow. So you have two days left of this work week when we're recording this. I know it's publishing on Monday, but we're recording it on Thursday. You have two days left. What is the one thing that you would put on your list? I'm working on right now, I'm working on the Roth and 401(k), HSA and just our asset protection and our retirement stuff. That would be it now, that's a huge chunk. Yeah. I was about to say that's more than one thing. Yeah. But it is one thing. And to me, it's one thing because that's where I'm going. I probably won't focus on HSA yet, but it's one of the things that I'm working on there. So it's working on the solo 401(k). And just strictly focusing on that. Yeah.

Yeah. I think actually the solo alternative, because we're calling the attorney today, right? Yup. I think that's probably the one thing, like what you said was a big project. So we're giving you a live example, Flip is working on all this stuff. He's also working on. Yeah, the asset protection, the taxes, the new LLC, and all this stuff, that he's got it on his plate. Out of all of that, he's got to choose, what's most important, otherwise, you just lose your days, right? You've got too much and you're overwhelmed. Like, what do I start with, I can't even figure out what to do, what's my highest priority, but if he just focuses on the one thing, then our attorney called today is actually going to enlighten us and tell us exactly the strategy that we need to do in order to accomplish what we're trying to do. And then we can take the next steps and or reprioritize it because maybe it's not top of the list anymore, based on what that answer is. So that's just a perfect example of hey, that's one thing that we just put at the top of Flip's list, that's going to take him probably 20 minutes on the phone today. And then it's going to allow him to reprioritize from there. 

So something like that reduces overwhelm, right? Yup. Oh, that's the only thing I really have to get done. And then you feel so accomplished. At the end of the day, like, I did it! I did my one thing and it doesn't matter. And of course, you do other things. But you know, you did the one that was, you identified as most important. So it's a needle mover, it's a good brain hack, we wanted to talk about it, because everybody's trying to figure out the most efficient way to get from point A to point B, and the world we live in today is full of so many distractions, and so much noise, that even though we naturally and instinctively know, we should be doing things like this, it's easy to get swept into the distractions and the pings and everybody else making their priorities, your priorities, which should never happen. 

You first and then everybody else, shut off the phone, you know, just eliminate it all, get your one thing done, and take breaks and just say, Hey, I'm gonna be available at 12, I'm gonna check text, I'm gonna check the phone, I'm gonna check whatever. For those of you who have another job and career that you're passionate about, and maybe Freedom Through Passive Income is your one thing, then you're going to attend a webinar or watch a webinar or review a pitch deck. That's all. That's it. That's all you had to do. And then maybe tomorrow, your one thing is to call and ask questions. So I think it's a really simple way to just take a world of stuff and go, *Compress*. Yeah, and move the needle and make you really feel accomplished and happy that will produce happiness. We all want to be happy. That's right. So I think it's, you know, Invest Smart, Live Happy. It's kind of our motto. It kind of is, yeah. So I hope this was, uh, impactful. So you just have to decide what your one thing is. Yeah, that's it. Exactly. Yeah.
