Today’s Motivational Monday is about The Power of Music. For those of you that don't know us. We were musicians, many moons ago and music runs very deep for both of us. People often ask what type of music you do for this? And we discussed before this episode on how we can relate this to real estate investing? In this episode we will be sharing some of the songs that drives us and gets us where we want to be.

There'd be days when we walked into the office, and felt so unmotivated and you tell yourself, I don't got it, I don't have the energy, I can't do it today. And so we would shut our door, and turn emails and everything off. And we would listen to some music for 5 or 10 minutes, just to get us going. If music doesn't motivate you, find something that does and incorporate it into your workday and life. Most of us relate to music and you might remember the song from your past that puts you in a good mood, triggers emotional memories or excites you. Usually, when somebody starts hearing the first few bars of the Rocky theme, they're ready to run down the street. We encourage you to create those personal playlists that you love and help you push through a bad day or tough moment. Listen for a few moments, smile and then attack life. According to an article by Harvey Mackay, it is hard to be in a bad mood when you're smiling. We hope you will, like us, create your playlists for every  mood that may give you  purpose and lead you to question why you haven't yet taken the action steps to get you where you want to be.

Hey everybody! Flip and Dani here, founders of the Freedom Real Estate Group Family of Companies. I got through them. Yeah. Welcome to another episode of our podcast and podcast is called Freedom Through Passive Income. That's right, and welcome to another episode. And this is one of our Motivational Monday's. And this one is The Power of Music. Yeah. And so for those of you that, if you don't know us, we were musicians, many moons ago, but music runs very deep for both of us. Yup. Because that's we were trained both professionally, where we went to many different schools, from the wee lads, up to paying a lot of money for schools. For college, yup. At least I did. Which I'm no longer paying. And so that's all paid off finally. Woohoo! Yeah.

So but so music runs deep for both of us. And you would ask me, like, you know, hey, What are things that you, what type of music do you do for this? What type of music do you do for this? And then right before this episode, you're like, how can we relate this to real estate investing? And one of the things that I completely remember when I was the acquisitions department, and I had to report to myself every day, how many houses did you find a day. How many houses did you get under contract, you need to do better Flip. I had these conversations daily. And so like, there'd be days when I walk into my office, and I'm just like, I just, I don't got it, you know, I don't have the energy. I don't have, I can't, I don't, I just don't, I can't do it today. And so I would, I would shut my door, and I turn off my email and turn everything off. And I would turn on some music just for 5 or 10 minutes, just to get me going. And it was, and if you don't know, the group, most people don't. But it's called Tower Power, which is a funk horn band, they've been around for over 50 years, which I can't believe. But you know, along the same lines, as James Brown, you know, just very happy, very energetic music, you feel the energy, when you listen to the, to the songs from this group, and I would just sit and listen to it, and I'd crank it up, you know, just to get the blood flowing. And it worked every time.

And I usually have a few songs here and there, that would just I would hear like, you know, just like, five seconds of it. Now we're just, I'd be moving and you know, I'm not gonna dance here on this podcast yet. I'm not going to do that. But so anyway, so that would be you know, find something, if music doesn't do it for you find what does it for you. I find it most everybody relates to music. And you can relate to, remember in eighth grade, you know, when you listen to that one song, it puts you in a good mood, you know, or whatever, the music goes back, it triggers emotional memories. And so think of those songs that would get you excited. Like The Final Countdown. That's right. Eye of the Tiger or the Rocky theme, you know any of those. Usually, when somebody starts hearing the first few bars of the Rocky theme, they're ready to run down the street. That's right. And so it's finding that you're using something it's not you know, it's not artificial, because it I'm sure it has something to do with the endorphins and bah bah, bah, bah, bah. Yup.  But it gets you going.

Yeah, we had done a coaching session. Quite a while ago, I remember being I think it was an Arizona when we did this one, for some reason, maybe it was Texas. But remember when we talked about the, your brain, how this, the neurons and synapses work, and it's like having a machete and you're like, in this big tall field grass, right? And we talked about taking that machete and whacking, whacking, whacking and the more you repeated whatever step it was. So it could be like the music thing, right? And the more you allowed your body to get motivated or do a certain activity, it was that pathway that you kept on beating down. And every single time you did it, the weeds or whatever harvest it kept on that pathway just kept on getting clearer and clearer and clearer. And the easier it was for you. In this case, we're talking about music, you turn a lot of music, and it's like, a clear pathway right there. Because you've done it so many times. Your brain knows when I hear Rocky, I'm running. Yup. Right? So it's *music beats* and it's automatic. Whereas the very first time you're cutting down that harvest, right? And so it's tough and it's tough and it's maybe a little bit easier the next day and maybe a little bit easier, but you're still like whoa, and we all know our muscles if we're talking about running, you know that second or third day holy crap, it's hard. Yeah.

But that's like the effort that kind of pushes you into starting to build that habit. So I think with music, the way that you just described it, I think knowing those types of songs and finding those things that you say, when you didn't feel like going out and buying houses, you just didn't have it in you. And you just want to just put on some music. That was your brain going, this is what it's going to take to give you the energy and the boost and the motivation and the inspiration to then just go after it. And then you would go after it, literally, you were the acquisitions department, for our family of companies for years, all by yourself, we now have like, 10 people in that company. It's crazy when I think about how many people are in that company, and that you used to do it by yourself. Right. So it worked for you, right? Yup.

So that speaks a lot to it. I had like, just googled, because you're the one that creates all of our playlists, right? We've got different playlists for like, when we're stressed out, when we want chill time, when we want to go to sleep and that is one of my encouragement to you today is to create those playlists, identify those songs that you love. But one for me that I played a lot was a Million Dreams. And you actually looked at this. I made sure that it was on there. I just wanted to make sure that a Million Dreams was on this because it was something I played over and over because it was so tough. And I was like I would just play it on repeat. And you'd be like, I'm going to bed and I'm like it's okay, repeat, repeat. And I'd be up for hours just listening to it. Because I needed to marinate in that world of I'm dreaming something I might, I have all of these ideas in my head and I'm going after them. And I'm not going to give up as frustrated as I am, as tired as I am, as angry or disappointed or whatever it was that I was feeling. That was a song that just kept on going for me. And I had to keep on just listening to it. And as I was looking for the songs, I found like Ain't No Mountain High Enough. That was just a fun one. Skyscraper, We are the champions, You Raise Me Up. There's just lots of great songs. And I feel like everybody has a kind of a song that makes them go. Yep, just go attack life.

So then I was looking at our FREG AllStars Facebook group. And it was a couple years ago that I asked people, what songs encouraged you to be a better leader? Oh. And people listed a bunch of songs. But one of the comments on there was Tina, and she said, music can be a direct line into your subconscious. And I went, Amen, sister, that is absolutely true. And so she created a bunch of playlists that would do certain things for her depending on what she needed at the time, very much like you do for us. And I just thought that was something that is really cool. She has a playlist of songs that make her smile. You know, and I actually read an article about that. Recently, I think it was in The Hustle which we talked about recently too, something about your smile and how it's hard. No, it's a Harvey Mackay thing. I think you sent me a Harvey Mackay article. I did, I did. About smiling. On smiling. Yes. And it was very much about it's hard to be in a bad mood when you're smiling. It's hard to like in all of these things that make every situation better if you smile. And so she created a playlist that just lifted her mood, right? And made her smile. And I thought that's really incredible to think about things like that. I thought the funniest thing about the smile thing is, it's an average eight year old smiles like three or four hundred times a day. Yes. And an average adult. Yup. Like 50 times a day. Yeah, that's crazy. I mean, fortunately, I hope that you and I do a better job of that. We like to laugh, we like that fun, you're goofy.

But anyway, so create playlists. Yeah. For every single mood that you can and if you have not actively started setting goals for yourself or giving yourself a purpose or a why or figured out what you want or you haven't taken the action steps to get you where you want to go, figure out what songs are going to trigger you to put yourself in the mood to be able to do it, just like Flip did for acquisitions when he didn't feel like doing it today. He said let me turn on this music because I got to do this today. If I want to get where I want to go I have to do this today. People are depending on me, my family, my team, whoever it is that's depending on, you are depending on you quite frankly, to get where you want to go, nothing happens without you actually taking action. So figure out the songs and take the next steps and if there's anything we can do to help that's why we're here. Yup, somebody said create three songs or create a list of three songs that if you're driving on the street when that comes on the radio, you crank it as loud as possible. There you go. What are those three songs? Yes. I know my three like that. Awesome.

Anyway, we hope you enjoyed this episode make sure you head over to our website, www.FreedomCapitalInvestments.com to join the investor club and also catch us on all the social medias but we hope that this helps and hope that puts a smile on your face because everybody needs to smile more, right? That's right. That's right. Well yeah, that's it? Yeah, that's it. I was just, I was thinking of more songs. When you're smiling, that's one of my favorite songs.
